TalkTalk to raise broadband and phone prices

TalkTalk is set to follow on from BT by increasing costs.
TalkTalk customers are facing another price hike for their phone and broadband services under new plans outlined today.
According to reports from ISPreview, the provider is to raise the standard price of its entry-level broadband package from £5 to £7.50 a month while pushing up the price of line rental from £16.70 to £17.70.

The news is likely to come as a blow to customers, who already saw a rise in their bills back in April 2015.
As it is a mid-contract rise, any increase found to be above the rate of inflation could fall under Ofcom’s guidelines stating that unhappy customers can exit their contract without paying a penalty within 30 days of receiving their price notification letter.
Reports suggest that more ISPs could follow in TalkTalk’s footsteps, with BT the first to announce a price rise this summer back in July.
