Sony Pictures Television has launched a timeshift of its movie channel on Freeview.
The channel is available on the multiplex that delivers local TV channels across 34 different areas of the UK, Sony Movie Channel +1 is available on channel 50, wherever viewers can receive a local TV channel on either 7 or 8.
The channel is available on Freeview from 10pm to 6am, meaning the main 9pm movie can be seen an hour later, followed by the channel’s choice of late night films. The main fSony Movie service is available on Freeview channel 32 in most areas of the UK.
To make way for the new service, Sony Pictures Television has decided to cease broadcasting children’s channel Tiny POP overnight on Freeview. Tiny POP and Sony Movie Channel +1 timeshare using the same broadcast capacity.
