Programming Procedure by Direct Set
This procedure is used to programme or re-program the Sky+ Remote Control Unit (RCU) to operate your AV Amplifier functions.
This procedure is used when the RCU is not operating some or all of the AV Amplifier functions. It is possible that either the installer may not have set the RCU to the correct code or the customer may have changed their AV Amplifier since the original installation took place. In such circumstances it will be necessary to re-programme the RCU to the correct model of AV Amplifier.
Before proceeding further place your Sky+ RCU on a flat surface such as the floor or a coffee table.
- Turn on the AV amplifier you wish to operate, press the TV button on the Sky+ RCU (Remote Control Unit).
- Press and hold down the Select then the 0 (zero) buttons on the Sky+ RCU until the LED (Light Emitting Diode) blinks twice.
- Input the 4 digit number from the Sky+ RCU direct set code list pages. The LED should flash twice to confirm that the code was entered successfully.
- Use the Left navigation button on the Sky+ RCU to try and switch the AV Amplifier into standby. If the standby button works then the other AV Amplifier functions should also work and the correct code has been selected.
If all functions do not work correctly then repeat steps 1 – 3 and work through all the 4 digit numbers from the Sky+ RCU direct set code list pages until you find the code which supports all or as many of the AV Amplifier functions as possible.
Important
The most popular codes are sorted first within the Sky+ RCU direct set code list, therefore the codes should be attempted in sequence one after the other.
The remote control will operate all functions on the digibox (whilst in Sky mode) however it does not support the functions on their AV Amplifier at the current time. You must therefore keep your AV Amplifier RCU to hand to control the amplifier functions.
Sky remotes do not currently have any learning function.
AV Amp Volume/Mute Control Punch Through
If your Sky+ remote is fairly new or you have the Sky Navigator remote it may be possible to set the normal volume/mute controls to work your amp rather than the TV, without pressing the TV key.
Proceed as follows:
- Program the remote as detailed above to control your amp using the arrow keys in TV mode
- Press TV Key
- Hold down select and press 1 until the remote’s LED flashes twice (if it only flashes once or remains on steady, your remote does not support this feature)
- Press Sky key and enjoy
To reverse the process press select and 2 rather than 1.
