Sky has announced it is making changing to its satellite TV subscription prices on the 1st June 2015.
Sign-up pages on the Sky website advise new subscribers that Sky TV prices are changing on the 1st June. Subscribers are advised that as part of Sky’s terms and conditions, Sky may “increase prices by up to 10%” during a minimum contract term.
Price changes have not been disclosed, though ky recently paid a record amount to retain Premier League football rights through to 2019, which is almost certain to be passed on to subscribers.
BT has yet to confirm any prices for BT Sport during the football season, when it will start to show live Champions League football.
With both Sky and BT offering Premier League football, both platforms may offering lucrative deals on sports or broadband bundles to entice sports fans to take out a subscription.
