Sky has launched an “easy grip” version of its remote control designed for customers with visual impairments or limited dexterity. The “Sky+ Remote Control – Easy Grip” features raised and contoured buttons with larger graphics, along with a design that offers better contrast between the remote’s body and buttons.
“Sky is launching an inclusive remote control because we think that everyone should be able to enjoy a great choice of TV,” said Sky’s disability affairs manager Kay Allen. “We know that some viewers have problems operating their TV remote control so our Easy Grip remote is specially designed to make things easier for them. It’s just the latest addition to our range of accessibility services and we’ll continue to work to make television more accessible.” The new remote retails at £19.99.
