SES/Eutelsat Dispute – Satellite switch complete

sesMost services moved to temporary frequencies at the beginning of last week, as 500 MHz of spectrum transferred from the control of Eutelsat to SES Astra on the 4th October. SES Astra commenced simulcasting channels last Friday, with the temporary frequencies now switching off.

Sky and Freesat viewers should have remained largely unaffected, with the Electronic Programme Guide operators updating their channel lists to direct satellite receivers to the new frequencies. Freesat viewers who are still missing channels such as S4C, More>Movies and Euronews should try putting their receiver into standby for 30 seconds, with a rescan required if channels are not restored.

Will this affect Freesat & Sky?
The changes are not expected to have any impact on UK viewers, though viewers overseas may encounter reception problems on some channels. Remember to do a retune if you are not using a Freesat or Sky receiver.
