LG Electronics has rolled out an update to LG Channels, its free, ad-supported streaming service built into all LG Smart TVs released since 2016.
The refresh coincides with the platform’s tenth anniversary, a decade after its debut in Korea. LG Channels is now available in 33 countries, including the UK.
According to LG, the latest update introduces a cleaner, more intuitive interface, expanded personalisation and a range of region-specific enhancements designed to better reflect local viewing habits.

New features include:

  • Personalised recommendations: Viewers will now receive suggestions tailored to their tastes, powered by upgraded AI-driven algorithms.
  • Quick access menu: Pressing the OK button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a programme brings up channel details, the TV guide, favourites and trending content — all without leaving the current screen. This enables users to browse live options and switch channels more seamlessly.

Regional features:

  • United States: Users can set reminders for upcoming shows.
  • Europe: A new multi-audio option allows instant selection of preferred dubbing languages.
  • Middle East: The interface now supports right-to-left text display.

Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company, said:
“LG Channels is designed to give users seamless access to high-quality, engaging content. With the latest upgrade — from the new logo to our refined personalisation features — we are enriching everyday viewing by making the user experience more intuitive and enjoyable for millions around the world.”
