James Murdoch to step down as Chief Executive of BSkyB

skyJames Murdoch is to step down as Chief Executive of BSkyB to become Chairman and Chief Executive of Europe and Asia at News Corporation taking responsibility for the company’s international broadcasting, print and Internet divisions. Murdoch will remain at BSkyB as non-executive chairman.

Murdoch will be succeeded as Chief Executive by BSkyB’s current CFO, Jeremy Darroch.
Darroch joined Sky from DSG International plc (then Dixons Group plc), where he held the position of Group Finance Director. Prior to DSG, Darroch spent 12 years at Procter & Gamble in a variety of roles in the UK and Europe.
