ITV Encore launching June 9th

ITV Encore, a brand new subscription channel dedicated to the very best of great British drama, is launching on Sky Channel 123 on Monday 9th June.

The channel will be available on Sky’s platforms and will be ITV’s first new channel launch in eight years.

ITV Encore will give you another chance to see, or a fresh opportunity to discover, some of the best ITV drama of recent times.

Programmes such as  Broadchurch, Downton Abbey, The Widower, The Ice Cream Girls, Mrs Biggs, Lucan, Vera, Whitechapel and DCI Banks, are just some of the ITV dramas that are to be aired on the new channel from 9th June.

So a subscription only channel, offering viewers programmes already aired for free on other ITV channels.
It could have been a great addition to the ITV family of channels if it was free-to-air and available on all platforms, as a pay channel who would want to pay for content already available for free on ITV Player?
