Freesat confirms Manhattan will develop Freetime set top boxes

freesatadvertFreesat, the subscription free TV Service, has today announced that Manhattan Technology intends to manufacture a new line of Freetime set top boxes.
Manhattan is the largest UK-owned set-top box manufacturer supplying thousands of independent retailers as well as major retailers including Argos, John Lewis and Amazon.

Users of the new range will be able to access Freetime, (to access the major On Demand Services from BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5) Showcase, (Freesat’s programme recommendation service) and can use the Freesat mobile app to plan, record and manage TV programmes.

Managing Director of Freesat, Emma Scott said, “We’re delighted to confirm that we are working with another Freetime manufacturing partner, following the recent Freetime announcements with Panasonic and Vestel. Having worked with Manhattan for five years now, they are an important partner for us and it’s great to see our Freetime service proving so popular amongst both industry and consumers alike.”
