Cornwall Channel – a micro channel on satellite channel Information TV – has announced on Facebook and Twitter that it will be on Freeview “within the next three months”.
Cornwall Channel airs at 9pm on Monday evenings via Information TV on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401.
At this stage it is not known who will host the channel, and if current host Information TV as a whole will be appearing on the digital terrestrial television platform.
Information TV has been active on Freeview for the past four years, hosting Moscow-based news channel Russia Today on channel 85, with references on the Information TV website about Freeview availability currently solely referring to the carriage of Russia Today on the platform.
Capacity is still available on commercial multiplexes for either full or part time services to be delivered via Freeview to around 90% of households in the UK
