After a selection process carried out by Techex, the community owned local TV multiplex operator, Comux UK, has chosen Sencore’s VideoBRIDGE to provide its remote monitoring solution for remote local TV DTT (L-DTPS) transmission.
Comux UK’s system integration partner Techex will integrate the Sencore IP Distribution Monitoring Blade (VB120) and DVB-T/T2 RF Interface (VB252) monitoring into Comux’s NMS system. In addition, the equipment will interface to Spotlight, a dedicated user portal designed to allow Comux’s broadcast customers to see at a glance the ‘health’ of its entire transmission chain. This portal will be available on PC’s, tablets and mobile telephones.
“We needed to find a reliable and dedicated monitoring platform. Winning the Ofcom licence to build, operate and manage the local TV multiplex is an important and long term endeavour for Comux and we look to partners such as Techex and Sencore to assist in our success over the next 12 years,” said Chris Romilly, Chief Technical Officer at Comux UK.
Commenting on the choice, Richard Scott from Techex said, “We are highly excited to partner with Comux on such a new and important platform. The stability and quality of the transmitted signal will be critical to local TV. On behalf of Comux, we reviewed the monitoring solutions available on the market and truly believe that Sencore’s solution will deliver a lasting, high quality service for the L-DTPS licensees and the national broadcasters. Combined with Comux’s next generation, IP centric distribution network and other class leading components, Comux will have one of the most advanced DTT transmission networks in the UK.”
