Channel 5 HD seems to be moving to the same transponder as the other Channel 5 channels. This would see Channel 5 HD move from a Sky transponder to Channel 5’s transponder 57.
Channel 5’s transponder space was until recently, filled by regional variations of Channel 5’s standard definition service, which only differed during commercial breaks.
The available capacity is enough to allow the HD simulcast to move to the dedicated Channel 5 transponder.

The HD stream, containing colour bars, is labeled 7750 and is still currently encrypted, Viacom will now have greater control over how the HD version is distributed in the future.
The move could see the channel finally arrive on Freeview and Freesat, nothing has yet been confirmed by Viacom or Channel 5.
