Sweden (Sverige), officially the Kingdom of Sweden (Konungariket Sverige), is a country in Northern Europe. It borders Norway to the west and north and Finland to the east and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Ă–resund Strait.
At 450,295 square kilometres (173,860 sq mi), Sweden is the largest country in Northern Europe, the third-largest country in the European Union and the fifth largest country in Europe by area. The capital city is Stockholm. Sweden has a total population of 10.3 million of which 2.5 million have a foreign background.

Sveriges Radio AB (“Sweden’s Radio”) is Sweden’s national publicly funded radio broadcaster. Sveriges Radio is a public limited company, owned by an independent foundation, previously funded through a licensing fee, the level of which is decided by the Swedish Riksdag. As of January 1, 2019, the funds stem from standard taxation. No advertising is permitted. Its legal status could be described as that of a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organization. |
