BBC News Arabic television has signed another long-term agreement with Arabsat to launch exclusively their first Arabic news channel in high resolution via Arabsat BADR-4, which covers the entire MENA region and most of Western Europe. From 01 January, the HD free-to-air channel joins the same video neighbourhood as BBC News Arabic SD, among other leading international and regional news channels, which can be received throughout the region with the minimum reception dish size.
Khalid Balkheyour, Arabsat President and CEO said the new agreement with BBC News Arabic will enrich viewing in MENA and matches Arabsat’s strategy to continue being the leading HD neighbourhood for the Middle East and North Africa.
