BBC approves continued YouView investment

Following all seven shareholders signing a new funding agreement for YouView, the BBC Trust has published a report of findings after reviews of the broadcasters involvement with the service and its operations.
This report sets out a number of conditions relating to the future of YouView which the BBC would like to see being adhered to; one of these being the text-to-speech functionality being implemented in 2014/15.

Another condition was to ensure that channel owners can deliver content to users without having to go through BT and TalkTalk (two other shareholders of YouView) but has been met with some criticism with another shareholder, Channel 4, accusing the BBC of being overly cautious.
