RTÉ Radio 1, 2fm, Lyric FM and Raidió na Gaeltachta have now officially moved to a new pan-European transponder on the Astra 2F satellite at 28.2° East at the end of last week.
Their free-to-air signal can now be received more easily across most of mainland Europe and with smaller dish sizes.
Sky and Freesat users have been automatically switched to the new feed on Friday, other satellite users will need to manually tune in the stations.
The move is part of a recent deal between the RTÉ and Sky, which saw additional RTÉ TV services being added to Sky’s Irish service, meaning the existing transponder had become insufficient to to carry all the Irish channels in one place.
Along with Irish radio, TG4 (SD), RTÉ News Now and RTÉ One+1, are also available though encrypted and only available to Sky Ireland subscribers.
